Nicholas Celozzi Bio
Nicholas Celozzi is an award winning Actor/Producer/Director/Writer who has contributed to over 30 studio/independent feature film and television projects. Celozzi is the recipient of the prestigious David Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Entertainment Industry, The Southern California Motion Picture Council Award and the Silver Scroll Award from the Academy of Science Fiction.
Celozzi's next film is “6IX” (2019) a heart pounding psychological thriller, written by Celozzi to be produced by Celozzi and Monaco Films, distributed by The Exchange, and set for production the winter of 2020. Earlier this year Celozzi Produced “Kick Boxer: Vengeance” (2016), with Radar Films, Directed by John Stockwell and starring Jean Claude Van Dame and Dave Bautisa (Guardians of the Galaxy) which was released in 2016. “Kick Boxer sequel Retribution” opened January 2018 critical acclaim, which Celozzi served as Executive Producer starred Jean Claude Van Dame and Mike Tyson. Celozzi also wrote and produced “Shattered” which starred Emmy Winner Ray Wise. Shattered was distributed by VMI and released by Cinedigm winter of 2017.
Celozzi, scripted “The Class”, a contemporary Breakfast Club which he is in development casting. He wrote and produced the award winning featured length documentary “Momo, The Sam Giancana Story” released theatrically in 2014 and airing on EPIX in 2016. The film won the Grand Jury Award for Best Documentary at the Bel Air Film Festival, the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival and the Monaco/Monti Carlo Film Festival. His prior documentaries include: “Champions Forever”, which sold over a million DVD’s (Mohammed Ali, Joe Frazier, Larry Holmes, Ken Norton, George Forman) and “Fishing Trawler Craftsman”.
In 2012, Celozzi Co-Produced and cast the Weinstein/ Left Right Production/VHI hit “Mob Wives- Chicago.” Celozzi’s other producing credits include the Sony/Fox hit “Bottoms Up” (Paris Hilton) and “Hidden Obsession” (MCA/Universal). He also wrote and Produced the 3D franchise trilogy “Wings of the Dragon” and “Lost Island” (USA Cable Network). Celozzi Executive Produced “Dumb Luck” (David Proval-Soprano’s, Jeff Conway-Taxi) and his film which he produced “Abelar: Tales of an Ancient Empire” (3D sequel to “The Sword and the Sorcerer--Tales of the Ancient Empire”) directed by Albert Pyun, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. He Executive Produced “The Barry Milken Story” for Insomnia Film Group and co-produced “A Fine Step/Fandango” (Luke Perry, Armand Assante). Celozzi’s “Fallen Away” was nominated for Best Film at the New York Film Festival and his other commercial successful films of which he executive produced include: “Anchor Bay’s 7-10 Split” (Tara Reid), “Senior Skip Day” (Norm McDonald, Lea Thompson) and “A to Z”.
Celozzi served as Head of the Film Department at Act One Studios and Conservatory for three years and his film acting credits include: “The Closer” (Danny Aiello), “Pretty Smart” (Partricia Arquette), “Slaughterhouse Rock, Marked for Death and Terror Squad”. He Produced and starred in USA Cable’s hit comedy “Campus Hustle” as well as wrote and stared in acclaimed “Quite Kill” (Ron Perlman, Corbin Bernsen, Claudia Christian, Dick Van Patten). Celozzi also appeared in: The A-Team, Magnum P.I., Hunter, Walker Texas Ranger, and Abduction and he played Viper, a recurring character on NBC’s Days of our Lives.
Celozzi starred, produced and scripted the acclaimed Life Time Movie Channel’s World Premiere of “The Lost Angel” (Allison Eastwood, Judd Nelson, C. Thomas Howell). His live performances at the Hollywood Tiffany Theatre and the Oddessy Theatre include Producing and starring in productions of “American Buffalo and Best Man Wins”.
Celozzi’s Directing credits include the HBO feature film Dark and Deadly with Tom Reilly-Chips and Kim Patton-X-Files and “Checkmate (aka Deep Cover)” starring kickboxing champion Cynthia Rothrock, Stephan Nicols, Patrick Wayne. Celozzi was also contracted back on 2005 by Warner Bros and TNT to write and executive produce the 6 hour limited series “MOMO, The Sam Giancana Story”.
Over at Warner Bros. with the Wolper organization Celozzi has written and is in development on a feature film project titled “The Legitimate Wise Guy” to be directed by two-time Academy Award nominated Roland Joffe, for best director for “The Killing Fields” and “The Mission,”. Celozzi also wrote and is developing “2 DAYS/1963” the true story depicting the Kennedy assassination as told by Giancana‘s brother, and the film version of the best selling New York Times book "Secrets of a Small Town". Celozzi also just co-executive produced the film “ConMan”.
Celozzi is a member of the Screen Actors’ Guild/The American Federal Television and Radio Association, and the Writer’s Guild Association, West. He is the president of Le Monde Productions, a production company formed in 2010 owning over 15 titles. Celozzi along with partner Michael Sportelli founded Monaco Films who will co-produce “The Legitimate Wise Guy.” Monaco Films is currently overseeing development and production of several feature-length films including: “2 Days/1963” which explores the underbelly of the Chicago Mob and their role in the JFK assassination.
